Gentle Decompression, Soothing Relief
Embarking on the journey of Breast Augmentation is a beautiful new chapter, and your recovery is just as important as the procedure itself. We understand that your focus is on a smooth healing process and a result that feels as natural as it looks. Our Silicone Soothe Massage is a therapeutic treatment designed to nurture your body and help you feel completely comfortable in your skin again.
How Does This Treament Help?
After surgery, your body instinctively forms a protective capsule of tissue around the new implants. Sometimes this capsule can tighten and constrict, a condition known as capsular contracture. This can lead to a hardened, uncomfortable, and unnatural appearance. Regular, professional massage is a beneficial step in a beautiful recovery because it’s expertly designed to mitigate this risk.
Theraputic Treatments
We have created a uniquely effective approach that is both therapeutic and deeply compassionate. Our therapists are trained to listen to your body and your healing journey. We strictly adhere to your surgeon’s post-operative protocol. We go beyond simple breast manipulation by incorporating:
- Targeted Manual Lymphatic Drainage – a vital first step to reduce swelling and bruising.
- Comprehensive Soft Tissue Release – we work on the pectoralis major/minor muscles, shoulders, and back to gently “Knot Away” the deeper muscle tension that can affect posture and comfort.
- A Personalized, Compassionate Plan – your treatment is fully customized based on your specific needs, stage of healing, and your surgeon’s recommendations.
Structure Of The Theraputic Treatment
To address the specific stages of healing, our treatment is divided into clinically relevant phases:
- Early Phase Focus (First Few Weeks) – at this stage the primary focus is on lymphatic drainage and pain relief in the surrounding pectoral and back muscles to reduce inflammation and stabilize the tissue.
- Mid Phase Focus (Post-Clearence) – we introduce gentle breast tissue mobilization techniques and focus on scar tissue management around the incision sites to prevent adhesion and tightening.
- Maintenance Phase Focus (Long-Term) – the goal shifts to maintaining capsule pliability and flexibility in the shoulders, ensuring long-term aesthetic and comfort.
Typically, treatments can begin around 2-3 weeks post-surgery, your therapist can advise you about the best time for you once you have medical clearance.
Key Benefits
- Gently guiding the implant/breast tissue helps maintain a soft, pliable capsule, which is key to a comfortable, natural-feeling result with optimal cosmetic outcome.
- Protects the long-term integrity and health of the implant capsule.
- We work to soothe and release the physical and emotional tensions that can build up in your chest, shoulders, and back as your body adjusts.
- Gentle touch and massage, helps to reduce post-operative swelling, improve circulation, and aid in healing scar tissue.
- We assist the implants in settling into a natural, desirable position within the breast pocket.
Safety & Medical Protocol
- Required Medical Clearance: For your safety and the best results, you must have direct medical clearance from your surgeon before booking your first session.
- IMMEDIATE CONCERNS: We must stop treatment and you must contact your surgeon immediately if you experience sharp pain, redness, excessive warmth, or fever during or after the session. These could be signs of acute inflammation or infection.
MASSAGE PRESSURE LEVEL: Very light to gentle sustained pressure.
Frequently asked questions
It’s common to be curious about this unique, modern technique. Here are a few answers to help you understand what to expect.
The main difference is the tool and sensation. This “Soothe” massage uses soft, pliable silicone cups for a gentler lift, and we primarily “glide” them across the skin. Our other Cupping Therapy may use more traditional, rigid cups that are often left stationary for a more intense, deep release.
It is far less likely. Because the soft cups are kept in motion (“gliding”), they do not typically create the dark, circular marks associated with static cupping. You may experience some temporary pinkness from the increased circulation, but this usually fades very quickly.
Is it painful? No, it’s a gentle “pulling” or “lifting” sensation that most clients find very pleasant and surprisingly relaxing. The level of suction is easily controlled by the therapist to ensure it is always comfortable and soothing, never painful.
While it is deeply relaxing, it’s also very therapeutic. The gentle lifting motion is excellent for releasing fascial adhesions, improving lymphatic drainage, and increasing blood flow. This all contributes to reduced pain, better mobility, and healthier tissue.
Yes. When this technique is integrated into a clinical treatment plan by your qualified Remedial Massage Therapist (for managing fascial restriction, pain, etc.), the session is claimable under ‘Remedial Massage’ with most major Australian private health funds.
