A Targeted Approach to Pain & Injury

Remedial massage is complementary therapy that treats conditions which affect your muscles, ligaments, tendons, and other soft tissues. The goal of our remedial massage is to promote healing and recovery, improve mobility, and address pain or injury.

Before each treatment, our therapist will perform a thorough assessment to understand the underlying cause of your symptoms. This includes postural analysis, a range of motion testing, and palpation (touching tissue with our hands) to ensure your treatment plan treats the cause of the problem, providing more than temporary relief from pain.

Frequently asked questions

It’s common to have questions about this type of therapy. We’ve answered a few of the most frequent ones below.

While a Remedial therapist often uses deep tissue techniques, the two are not the same. Deep Tissue focuses on applying firm pressure to deeper muscle layers. Remedial Massage is a broader, assessment-based treatment that uses deep tissue (and other techniques) to treat a diagnosed problem.

It is common to experience some tenderness or soreness for 24-48 hours after a session, much like you would after a strong workout. This is a normal part of the healing process as your muscles adapt and recover. We’ll provide you with aftercare advice to manage this.

This varies greatly. Some people feel immediate relief after one session, while others with long-standing issues may require a series of treatments to address the underlying cause. Your therapist will give you a realistic prognosis after your initial assessment.

Yes, absolutely. Remedial Massage is highly effective for both recent (acute) injuries and old (chronic) issues. It can help to break down old scar tissue, improve flexibility, and restore function to areas that have been problematic for years.

Yes. As this is a clinical treatment performed by a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist, your session is claimable with most major Australian private health funds. We provide a receipt with all the necessary details for your claim.
